    Help

    Just got a new Sony DRU500a and when ever I try to burn a DVD video all I gat is a CDA file that will not play. Even when I inserted the Sony +rw disc that was brand new it showed up a CDA file when nothing had been burned. I have been able to burn just data, I have played a region 2 DVD to set region code. I am on firmware e and have not yet upgraded.

    I have tried Record MX, Studio 8, Studio express, Nero 5.10 and nero express. i found in a forum to do a full erase first, have tried this

    Now desperate for some advice

    Instead of CD rom disc did you select DVD layour instead. There have been issues with the nero 5.5.10.0 so this could be an added problem. While I favor Nero myself I have been burning with the recordnow dx until nero is working. I would suggest you read some of the posts regarding burning a proper dvd. Another thing is I would be update the sony firmware to the 1.f. Other than this its pretty straight forward.
