    I have played divx/xvid on my 600mhz 256mb sdram pc before and they played great but now lately they play like shit and look like shit...skipping and the color looks like shit also and i was wondering what could be the problem? i havent installed anything lately i upgraded to direct x 9 yesterday thats about it but they played like crap before that so i am clueless. if you can help me or have had this problem please post.

    Also it only looks like shit under 16-bit and plays fine but when switching to 24-bit it looks good but skips.

    I would install (or reinstall) the latest drivers for you video card, if you updated to directX 9 and your drivers have not been updated with those written for DX9, it could cause problems like this.
