  1. Im trying to make VCD'S on DVD-R Media, I understand that its a long process to do this because the sound has to be in 48hz, but I have a ATI-ALL-IN-WONDER 64 meg DDR TV tuner card and with the software that came with it it will let me capture directly to DVD Quality video for DVD Authoring and it makes the file a
    TYPE: MPEG-2
    VIDEO: 352X480, NTSC(525)
    8.00M BIT/SECOND
    AUDIO: 48.000KHZ, 16 BIT, STEREO

This file is created on my hdd and is supposed to be all ready for dvd authoring, but when i use Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 and pick to make a VCD on a DVD-R and select the video file i just captured in dvd format it will show up all full of lines and stuff, and I tryed to burn it and for some reason movieFactory wants to reencode it so i let it and then it burned and i tryed it in my Pioneer 434 and it still looked all blotchy and had no sound, can someone help me please

  2. Why are you taking a dvd compliant mpeg and trying to make a vcd on dvd-r out of it?

With the file your using you can just make a dvd-video. or am i missing something here?

First of all a VCD is mpg-1 not mpg-2, and the frame rate for NTSC should be 352x240. That is the standard for VCD's. All you need to do then is to de-mux your mpg file and re-encode the audio to 48khz. When you re-mux to an mpg, MovieFactory 2 will accept it and should not re-encode it again.

Secondly, as VCD's are only mpg-1 it will always be blockier than mpg-2.

Why should I have to de-mux my mpeg file and re encode the audio if i already capture it with 48 khz audio, and even if movie factory reencodes it it still doesnt work properly
