I have a widescreen Xvid movie I want to make into a VCD or SVCD.
What is the best way to do it and with what programs.

    Thanks for any help

I followed the instructions and got a file size of 2GB from a 700 mb file.
How can I get a smaller file?

    Thanks

continuing from my previous msg about large file size......
The original Xvid was in wide screen format (full wide screen without the black bard) but the converted mpg is in rgular full screen without the black bar. How can I get the black bars when converting so the wide screen picture isn't distorted?

I followed the instructions and the Xvid whent from 700 mb to a 2GB mpg.
Is that normal...how can I get a smaller file size?
also...the original Xvid was widescreen (full wide screen...without black bars). The converted mpg was full screen TV format so the picture was distorted since it was stretched. How can I make it TV format with the black bars to appear as widescreen.

    Thanks

  5. What you using to encode ?

If it's TMPGEnc then you can set the aspect ratio for the output, I normally set mine to Full Screen (keep aspect ratio 2), which is wide screen like yo see it at the pictures

A 700Mb Mpeg 4, will double in size when you convert it to Mpeg 1. Make sure you load a VCD template.

You then need to split the file for VCD
