Hi guys
Any advice you can offer to back up cartoons from DVD to VCD. I've backed up regular films no problem but are there certain settings I should adjust for animation? I can only do standard VCD's (CBR 1150) as my DVD player is not so hot at XVCD etc...
Any special templates out there for TMPGEnc etc....?
I usually use Smart Ripper, DVD2AVI and then TMPGEnc
Any info appreciated
Jimmy

what sort of settings are you looking for ?, apart from using file mode in Smartripper to get all the separate movies, the rest is the same.

Just that I thought I read on one of one of the posts that backing up an animation movie (e.g a disney film) needed slightly different encoding settings for smooth playback than backing up a regular movie.
Maybe I was wrong.....
Thanks Anyway.

Well I have ripped many Disney DVD's to VCD, I have most of them which I have purchased, so I can play these copies and keep the classics safe, Not came across any problems.
My original Bambi VHS is also put away safe now, as I have it on VCD
Now if they were going to be encoded to DivXthen there may be some careful settings needed, becuse of the high bright colours.
Why not try one, or did you do so already and get a problem ? -
Thanks King John, I'll be trying out my first VCD backup this weekend and hopefully will work fine...
Cheers again
