Although fairly experienced with VCD, I'm really new to ripping from DVD to DVDR. Have some patience with me.
Okay I'm using DVD Decrypter to pull the VOB file off the disc. When I then play the VOB back, the video looks great but I got the audio with the director's commentary. So I instead used Smartripper and removed every audio except the one I wanted.
Here's my question... am I doing something wrong with DVD Decrypter? Or does DVD Decrypter include all the audio files with the video (in the VOB) and then I need to somehow change the audio. And if I'm just downloading the wrong audio, how would I go about selecting the correct audio before I rip? And is there a way to tell which audio is on which layer, so that I know I'm ripping the correct audio before ripping it, listening to it, deleting it, and trying again?
Thanks! I hope I explained myself fully.

What program are you using to playback the vob file and did you use stream processing in decrypter? If not than all the audio channels are in the vob still and the player you are using does not have the ability to select the audio channel to play back. VOB files are muxxed with multiple audio channels, video channels, and subtitles. If you try and play the vob file in windvd or another software dvd player you should be able to select the audio channel being played.

I play the VOB files with ATI Video Player, as I couldn't get them to open in other players (such as Windows Media Player). I haven't tried WinDVD, so perhaps I'll give that a try. How do you select the audio feed once you have it playing? And if you have any knowledge of it, can I change the audio feed in ATI Video Player?

The ati file player does not allow for changing the audio channel. I do believe the ATI DVD player does. As for the dvd decrypter if you click on the streams tab and check the box for enabling stream processing. Then select the audio stream you want. I usually process the ac3 5.1 and dts. If your looking just to play it in the ati fileplayer then you should limit it to the ac3 only and uncheck all the other boxs.
