  1. I am trying to get the dolby digital 5.1 to burn with my movies I am backing up. I use dvd2avi and I have tried all the settings but I always come out with a 2 channel pcm track. Whats the point of backing up a dvd and not getting the right audio? I have BeSweet but I dont know how to use it (yet). If anyone has any ideas please respond. I use dvd decrypter, dvd2avi, tmpgenc and dvd maestro.

    Thanks

  2. Hey Pickupork, I'm doing the same as you are. DVD2AVI say its 2 channel. But when you import it onto maestro it shows 6CH for me. And my dvd player see's the Dolby ( the dolby digital sysmbol come up on it, so I think it 6CH. Hopefully helped you

  3. In Maestro it says 2 channel, and my reciever says pro logic but not dolby digital pro logic (no bass). What settings are you using in dvd2avi? Are you decoding to wav or ac3?

    Thanks

Classic mistake being made here - for AC3 (dolby digital) you need to select DEMUX and NOT decode in DVD2AVI (as Tbear has already said). This will rip the AC3 stream(s) from the VOB - and leave you with various AC3's - one will possibly be a 2 channel audio file (says so in the filename) and one should be a 6 channel audio file.

If you select decode (for SVCD) then all you will get is a WAV file which is a 'mix' from the AC3 file. The idea here is to convert this into a MP2 audio file for SVCD/VCD. You can use this for DVD if you want - it's much smaller file size than AC3 but is obviously only 2 channel (Pro Logic only).

    Hope this helps.

  6. I figured it out. In dvd2avi 1.76 under the audio menu I selected dolby digital instead of automatic and left the rest the same. It came out 6 channel DD 5.1. Thanks for all your help.
