  1. Hi all
    i recently downloaded a couple of xvid movies , and d/l a xvid codec
    sometime ago, the problem i have is the quality is great but the actors
    faces and arms look blue,or death warmed up, is there another codec im missing.
    Any help would be gratefull.

  2. I have a similar problem. If the avi file looks OK in Vdub then you could always save out the video stream under a different compression i.e div x 3.11 or I find div x 4.12 is ok.

    Usually with these files they will have mp3 audio so its best to save out audio as an uncompressed wave. Then use these two files as your video and audio streams respectively.

    I understand the Nimo pack of build 8 can cause problems and build 7 is better. I also understand you can higher the directshow priority in environmental settings. This has never worked for me, but the first para has and with the excellent quality from an xvid you can afford to lose a little quality on the resave.

    Use ffdshow, and encode the xvid with Panasonic instead......works perfectly for me. It takes a bit longer....... but 99 % accurate.

    where do i find this ffd show, i have only used vdub & tmpeg
    to change them to mpeg, divx that is

    Look on this site; at the Tools- area. Or; download at Kazaa or Imesh. The same for the Panasonic Mpeg1 Encoder. Also use Virtualdub Mp3/Antifreeze to scan your Divx/Xvid for bad frames. See the user guides from King John for this.
