  1. I've been using Sony CDRWs for my burning needs, mainly because this was the brand most recommended in the compatability list for my particular standalone (Panasonic RV30). Anyhow, whenever I burn to a new disk (i.e. fresh out of the shrinkwrap), the VCDs play perfectly. But if I erase a disk, then burn to it again, I always get freeze ups and lots of block distortion. Does rewriting to a disk mutliple times affect it somehow? I assume not, since that's what RWs are supposed to be for, but this has been a consistent problem and I have to wonder.

CD-RW discs will wear out if you rewrite them enough. But it should take a lot more than one write/erase cycle.

I have also been experiencing that problem.
But I think my burner (a crappy Philips CDD4801)
is causing the problem, on every RW that i burn (Memorex and Pocket CDRW) I get some error that the disc is damaged or when i actually do burn succesfully, I get green blocks like 9 seconds into playback on my DVD player.

I always do a full erase too...

I'm using the 'quick blank' feature in VCDEasy. I couldn't find any 'full erase' option.
