  1. I have various programs I use to convert a movie file to dvd-compliant mpg. Sometimes, the most convenient one for the job is TMPGenc DVD Source Creator. But often, it multiplies the movie length by several times. A 2 hour movie loads into the program, and is listed as being 8 hours long or something! Anyone know what causes this weird phenomenon? It sometimes happens on TMPGenc Express, also. Seems to be a fluke in their software. Anyone else encountered this problem?

  2. Thanks for the quick reply, but that wasn't really my problem. (I've had the thing of TMPGenc running too long also, but that's another issue.) I'm talking about the movie being loaded 4 or 5 times in a row, so that Source Creator tells me I'm trying to create a 10 hour movie or something.

So the movie is actually repeated 4-5 times rather than the usual movie followed by lots of black frames?

  4. Exactly. If I scan through the movie in the edit window, it's there 4 or 5 times in a row. I can use other converters instead of DVD Source Creator, so it's no big deal, but it's just a curious fluke and I was wondering if anyone else had encountered it. It never occurs with regular TMPGenc, just with Source Creator, and occassionally with TMPGenc Express. And this is on more than one computer, and with differing generations of the programs. I'm suspecting there's a bug in the program that isn't compatible with certain kinds of avi files, because it doesn't happen with every movie. When I get an avi file that makes Source Creator do this, the same file will make Express do it also.
