  1. Hi,
I have some MPEG2 files which I have run through DVD2AVI per the instructions under the convert section here. Then I bring them into TMPG for conversion to MPEG1 files for VCD authoring.
However, after running them through TMPG, the sound is about 4 seconds off the picture. Does anyone know why this happens, and how I can fix it? Thanks!

  2. what are the files your useing on avi2vcd? are they vob files from a dvd or are they mpeg2 files from a video capture. the reason i ask is i have the same problem with a captured mpeg2 file. my capturing can be anywear from 2-10 seconds off. vob files are NO problem for me though. hopefully someone here can help us with this.

  3. Hi,
They are MPEG2 files from a video capture on an ATI AIW card. The sound is fine on capture, but somewhere between splitting with dvd2avi and converting with TMPG it's pushed the sound back ~4 seconds.

On the upside my video looks fantastic now on the VCD.

Now if I can just get this audio right I'll be a happy camper.

  4. sounds like the same problem i am having with my captured video's. i read sometime ago about being able to put a few seconds either before or after the sound file itself but i can't remember how it was done. i'll look on my other posts and see if its still there and post the link for it here
