For a so general question, I have a so general answer

    Format C:
    Install win2k (or XP)

Faster than trying to find a way to solve a problem

From what I hear, although XP is stable, it is not necessarily the best OS for video editing/encoding etc.

Have you installed any new video codecs since TMPG was last stable?

  4. Before you resort to a clean reinstallation of WinXP, consider trying this:

    1. In Tmpgenc go to File menu and select New Project. This will reset Tmpgenc. Now, try to open your d2v file and encode.

    If that still closes Tmpgenc,
    2. Recreate and save a new d2v file. Then repeat step 1.

Remember, don't move d2v or tpr files around after you save them. These files have to be in the location where you originally saved them to work.
