Hi! I finally made a vcd...the only problem is my dvd player will not read it. I looked up the model on this site and it does play vcds. I looked in the manual of my dvd players and it says it accepts 74 minute and 20 minute vcds. I however recorded the vcd using an 80 minute cd. Is that really the problem?? The dvd usually interprets it as "no disc" and "please insert a disc" Thanks in advance.

What model do you own? If it says it plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs, then it will play your home made VCDs. If not, it will omly play commercially produced VCDs.

Ohhhh..I see now. Thank you so much for replying so quickly. Well, the manual says it doesn't play cd-r so I guess my home-made vcd won't work. Now I get why the vcd's I buy work and the one's I make will not. Thanks again.

You could still try cdrw or 'silver' coloured cdr - they work in many players that don't accept cdr.
