I don't know what's up with this disc. It's an Imation that reads in DVD Decrypter as a CMC. I ran the movie through IFOEdit to strip out the unwanted subs and soundtracks and then burned with Nero. It plays fine in computer but when i put it in my Pioneer DVC503D it plays fine until the last couple of chapters then starts pixelating, skipping, jumping and losing audio sync. Any ideas???

Sounds like a quality thing.
Try upgrading yolur DVD player (not reccomemded) or perhaps the
Media you Use (cheaper option)
Maby the Encoding is at to high of a bitrate
maby you got a lemon player
maby maby maby
Really though, give us some more infor about what the symptoms and circumstances of the problem are -
try a different burning software like gear pro dvd or recordnow max.. I use to use nero and I was having lots of problem with pixelation ..at first it was the media..but I found out that it was nero causing it..don't why..it just don't like the hardware media combo I guess but I stop using nero and I switch to recordnow max.....
just my 2 cents -
2 possible things:
1st media
2nd Recording-program
Just try another brand of media and use RNM e.g. I hope it helps! -
Media, bitrate, player, burner all could affect it.
If it's 2x media, you could try writing at 1x.
Try a different player, make sure firmware in burner is updated. Use another media, or another brand and try again. Same results?
Does it happen on a direct ISO copy of a working layer 1 disk? That would rule out any reencoding/authoring/compiling issues if it still fails. -
I thought that if you copied a dvd the way you did, that it doesn't compress anything. So the video and audio shouldn't be a lower quality. I would suggest trying a different burning program, I heard the latest version of DVD Decrypter is good for burning the dvd image. Also try in a different player!
Good Luck! -
You're right, he didn't mention reencoding. But a layer 1 direct copy would still be a good test as it rules out any issues with ifoedit/authoring, etc/

I had a same problem with playing on Thomson DTH 4500. I have tried lot of media from ntenso, Gigamaster, TDK, Sony.... but still problems with skipping and pixelization. I have found that player is not 100% compatibile with DVD-R. Now I have changed it to cheap Orava 502X player and no problems with every media (even cheapest one) , DVD-R, DVD-RW, VCD,XVCD,SVCD with high bitrate. Maybe your player is also not compatibile with DVD-R. Try your DVD-R in another brands.
P.S. I´m using Prassi Primo DVD for burning.
