I have a Philips DV610 and it says that it can play VCDs, (heres the users manual http://www.p4c.philips.com/mprdata/010816/0108160005_dfu.pdf ) i burned a couple or SVCDs and it wouldnt play on the player any reason can anyone help me, thanks

Look on page 6 of the manual, down at the bottom, there is a heading "Unacceptable Disks". VideoCD(VCD) is listed there. Thereby it is not compatable with VCDs. Additionally you mention SVCDs. SVCDs (Super CideoCDs) are not listed, however I have never heard of a player that will play SVCDs that will not play VCDs.

Later i fiugured out that it can play VCDs but SVCDs wont work is there a Firmware upgrade someware?
