Hi, I'm a relative newbie at this. I tried once before to make a VCD from an AVI, and it seemed to work, except that the giant chunk of video bothered me, so I decided to try to make chapters.
I've read many posts about chaptering, but they all seemed to be related to extracting the chapters from IFO or VOB files from a DVD rip or something.
I wanted to know if there is a way to make my own chapters from an AVI file, without needing to use a DVD rip. I tried with VCDEasy, but when burning it still created only one track.
Is there a way to create smooth transition chapters from just an AVI file?

yes. its done the same way as in the tutorials except you have to manually input the times or frames of the chapters.
