  1. Ive been converting DivX to SVCD abit now and i understand how to do it
    is there any difference in converting a XVid to SVCD as to DivX to SVCD?

  2. I have dealt with a few xvid files and due to their compressed nature they tend possibly to use VBR mp3 or AC3 for sound. If you have the correct codecs (find links in forum for Nimo pack) you may be able to save out the sound as uncompressed wave if its VBR and if ac3 you need to save out the sound as ac3 and then use headac3e to convert.

    Once you have done these you should be able to use the xvid avi as source for the video stream and your sound source will be the output file from one of the above. In my case I am unable to use the Xvid avi as video stream, I have to recompress as divx and hence lose a touch of quality. However the results are still impressive!!

    I have just noted a post which states that the nimo codec pack with a build 7 on is the one to use, am not sure if I have the offending build 8 pack, will check tonight!
