Did you noticed there is DVD-106S drivers?

Is that drive out for sale yet?

DVD-106S is a Slot Loaded DVD-ROM drive...DVR models numbers are DVD-recorders

can i record my movies in 4x then?
or is the dvd-r's programmed to not be burned in more than 1x,
unless you buy dvd-s that can be burned in 4x?

should i upgrade? sounds dangerous!
beacouse it works so fine now, but it only burns in 1x!

I upgraded firmware without noticing any difference.
Pioneer DVR-105 burns at 2x on 1x media:
