  1. I am trying to use ffmpegX under the root user. When i start my imac it automatically logs in as the root user. Everything was put in place and the commands were put into the terminal window (I had 2 people that are using it try to help me with this). When i run it, it creates a .wav file that is quite small and a separate mp2 file hat is small.

    Any suestions,

  2. You dont have enough details of what you are trying to do. Please explain more. Maybe also post the output of FFmpegX. Why are you trying to run as root?
If you are 'trying' to make ffmpeg(X) go faster, you can try to use 'sudo renice -20 '. Also try 'man renice' to learn about it.
