  9. Well first off if the DVD your copying is under 4.7 gigs then yes you can make an exact copy of that DVD with chapters, menus, etc.
This is what i did when backing my DVD up called "Major Payne", the whole disk was under 4.7 gigs.

First i ripped the DVD to my Hard Drive using DVDdecryptor, or you can use Smartripper. Just rip all the files on the disk to a folder on your Hard Drive, i used C:\tempDVD.

Second i looked at the whole contents to see what exactly was on the disk and if there was something i was missing or not. The only thing on the disk was a folder name IMG, and VIDEO_TS. With a IE link to some web page which i didnt click on to find out.

I then opened my Nero version 5.5.9.13, the initial popup window lets you chose what format you wanna burn, with this version there is a drop down menu on the left hand corner of that window for either CD or DVD. Obviously you wanna chose DVD, this will give you options for what kind of DVD your wanna burn. I chose DVD-Video. This will popup your left pane window which will have 2 folders already made for you called VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. On the right hand side i went into my C:\tempDVD folder where i just ripped my DVD to. I dragged and dropped all the files from this folder into the VIDEO_TS folder in the left pane.

Finally i burned the DVD. I went to "File" >>> "Write"
I put the disk i had into my player and it was the exact same thing as the DVD of "Major Payne". There was no difference, i had all the menus, chapters, extras, etc. The quality of the video was supperb like all DVD's.

  11. If the file is that big then you will have to lose either video quality or your menus, what is more important watching a movie ? =)

Below is a link to a guide which Blackout made, i read over it and he has done a excellent job.. Thanks Blackout !!

    Hi All,
Not if you want true DVD Video from a source over 4.38gb,on 1DVD+/-R. That is what this site is all about, or at least the DVD9to5 portions of it and everyone has an opinion on how to do the deed, me too.
This is only for DVD9's that can not be reduced to a workable 4.7 (4.38) GB by ripping just the main movie or all of it if size willing, if so It is just a straight rip and burn with (DVDDecrypter), another good freeware program, or whatever program you prefer.
I have had great success with this method on DVD9to5. It is not all freeware but I have spent many nights and countless time on a lot of software and found this method flawless, if followed precisely, on each attempt. You have to decide for your self what works for you time, cost quality, ect. I have made many, many copy's of my DVD's and no costers since I started using this process. None of this is my software nor do I have any affiliation with the software providers I just know it makes great DVD's and it is all still available unlike most of the guides I tried that get you half way through the process and then you find out some of the software or other necessary component does not exist any more or costs an arm and a leg.

    Not free but cheap
