I have been seeing different aswers.
If I make CVD from my pvr-250 using settings:
program
352x480
CBR 2520
44 khz/224
Can I just take that mpeg and burn it directly using Ulead DVD moviefactory?
Currently I have been throwing it into NanosecEdit, even thugh I have not edited any part of the clip. It creates a new MPG file, then I use that new one with Ulead and burn it.
I am trying to cut out the second step. Since I am not doing any editing, can I just go from PVR-250 capture the video then put it into Ulead and burn?
Or will I have problems later on?
Thanks

No, audio for a CVD is 44.1 khz like he said. If you are trying to make half D1 DVD video then yess 48khz is right.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
Yes if I choose 48 khz, then it comes out as miniDV instead of CVD, both play fine with the process I do above using my Initial 9510
but what I want to know is can I skip the step of using Nanompegeditor? If I am not doing any editing whatsoever?
Someone told me you still need to do that remux it after coming out of the pvr-250, but I dont see why I should have to?
Thanks -
If you want to burn your CVD/xCVD to a CD-R then you have to demux and remux your file as SVCD. That way, you can burn 792MB on a 800MB CDR and you have less compatibility probs.
If you want to burn your file to a DVD-R, then you can keep it that way. But I suggest again a demux - remux, just to get rid of the padding.... -
Actually I did some test, and was able to burn a vcd/svcd/and cvd all driectly from pvr-250 then use ulead and burn directly, and it worked fine in my player.
So you recommend I still demux and remux?
What does demux and remux exactly do? -
And You are sure, You didn't remux?
Actually Ulead does it anyway. De-re-mux is needed, when burning in something like Nero or WinOnCD, not dedicated authoring SW.

Agh thanks epo, that makes sense which works great,
since I am not doing any editing, only takes 2 steps to make vcd/svcd/cvd
Capture using pvr 250, then burn uring ulead,
this pvr 250 works great once you get past all the buggy drivers -
Hi, all. I have a similiar question re de-mux/re-mux. I can create a CVD with DVD MF just fine, i.e. 352 X 480, vbr, 224 kbps, and 44 KHz. This CVD plays fine on my DVD player. I'm looking in the future when I will take these CVDs and burn them onto a DVD. However, the only attribute stopping me is the 44 KHz where the DVD standards call for 48 KHz. I tried de-mux with tmpgenc, but I can't find a way to re-mux with a 48 KHz sampling. I'm trying to avoid a complete re-encoding and just getting by with a mere re-mux. Is there some utility out there that I can use to upsample the 44 KHz audio file into a 48 KHz audio file, and then perhaps have tmpeng re-mux the file back into a mpeg2 file, at which case I can then use DVD MF to author and burn the DVD? Another related question, do I need tmpengc plus even if I merely want to re-mux and not re-encode? It is an awful shame if I had to purchase tmpengc plus to just remux my mpeg2 files.
Thanks in advance for your help. -
