Good Bitrate for mpg-1(NTSC-Film format)???

I've been working for several weeks on getting the best possible picture quality with vcd(mpg-1). I 've READ and READ and experimenting with about 100 + cdr's to try to get it right. Quite frankly, I'm getting a tremendous migraine, cause I can't seem to get the right combination!!!!!! I've tried everything from 750-1200 bitrate. Can soneone please help me, with the proper settings, if you can. Thanks So Much!!!!!

Im not entirly sure on what you are trying to do. Are you trying to fit one movie on one cd with the best possible quality? Are you trying to make a really high quality vcd? You gotta tell me what you are trying to accomplish before I can help you.

I've been d/ling mutiple avi parts from p2p networks. I am really only tring to convert the different parts to a cd each. I am tring to get the best possible picture for each part.
