  1. okay here are my issues, i ripped the subtitles from DVD, and basically import it to maestro.. however, after I compile, i notice the subtitles are like, way off, its like not timing issues, rather that the subtitles are like off to the right, and not centered, it also looks like its stretched.. any ideas what could be wrong?

  2. you didnt say how you ripped them.
i use subrip which you probably do to get the .son file
anyway, you do get an option in subrip as its ripping about the positioning
    of the subs.

  3. When using subrip, set settings to meastro and bmp. Save textfile to son file and import them into meastro. doubleclick on the sub bar in meastro and import the palet file for color settings.
    This must do the trick.

  4. hello,

yes I used subrip and made it maestro file, however, the file seems to be cut off in the middle for some reason.. and i was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it could be fixed.. i basically checked powerdvd to read the files, and the subtitles are all the way to the right, and on maestro when u edit each subtitle u see it right in the middle perfectly, but when u play it with powerdvd it is way to the right and cut off half of the subtitle. also i finally got cinemaster DVD player, and checked the preview via maestro, and i noticed the subs are in the middle, but it cuts off like half way.... example:

    "BLAH BLAH BL "

when it should say BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

    if that makes sense.....

anyways, my guess is that this is subrips causing something..

    thanks

  6. @pookeye, this may not be the answer, but I noticed I had a similar problem in certain movies. After many tests, I realized that the problem with off centered subtitles was due to the fact that certain movies were 16:9 widescreen, while others were 16:9 panscan. If your DVD player is set to the widescreen option while the movie is actually panscan, the subtitles will be off. You will never notice a difference in the actual picture of the movie itself though. Change the settings on your DVD player, AND/OR TV if applicable, to the movie original, and I think that may work. Let me know if that resolved your problem.

  7. well, that is interesting, this is recorded at 4:3 as DVD2AVi said.... and i basically made Maestro work only 4:# instead.... and well the subtitles are cut.. maybe I shuold try 16:9 iinstead and see if subtitles are shown... but it doesnt look like it doesnt have subtittles but it seems like the subtitles are always cut off.. in mean its centered now.. but just cut off.. only half for some reason..

well illl give it a try tonight

  8. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE SUBTITLES BEING CUT IN HALF...... in maestro and scenarist and everything else. well when u start up dvd decrypter, it automatically pick what it thinks the movie is. and that is the biggest files,.... now get this... Lets say that its VTS_02.IFO and it has 3 big VOBs, but is also has 1 really tiny VOB.... soo u will see VTS_02_0.vob, VTS_02_1.vob, and VTS_02_2.vob, and VTS_03_3.vob, basically i found out that DVD-Decrypter only decrypted the big files, unless u make sure it picsk the small file also, you will also have to make sure that Subrip rips ALL THE VOBS... INCLUDING THE SMALL FILE VTS_02_0.vob. this is crucial... after days of redoing everything i think i finally got somewhere.. thanks for everyones help.
