My problem is this: I am backing up a movie that is 16:9 ration. I rip the dvd onto my hard drive into the vob files. Then when I open those files in dvd2avi some weird shit happens. When using dvd2avi version 1.76 it says the movie file has a resolution of 720 X 360 but then when it decodes into the ac3 file and the d2v file the d2v file won't open in tmpgenc. SO I decided to chance to dvd2avi 1.77 and in there it opens the file and says the resolution is 720 X 480 so it is making everything tall and skinny. Someone please give me a hand here.

When you encode your project, try encoding at 4:3, sometimes tmpgenc is recognizing the full frame of the picture including the black area and not just the actual video. I have done this many times and it keeps tmpgenc from narrowing the video. Hope that helps.

Thanks alot but the problem is in DVD2AVI its shrinking it there. DVD2AVI seems to think the file is something it isn't.
