What is the best way to add permanent subs to a divx?

What is the best way to add permanent subs to a divx?And easiest. I've tried the conversion guide with vitual dub and vobsub/mux and it didn't work is there another way?

Probably will have to resync the subtitles using SubSync.

Thanks but i don't want to make a mpg file i just want the subs in my divx file.

Skip the frameserving part and save to avi. select also video->full processing and video->compression and choose divx.
