I have read how to create a DVD-VCD, but I still have a question...
    - If I was to simply write a DVD as a VCD - i.e. Not in dvd format with .vob files etc. but recorded it as a VCD with true VCD format/file structure i.e Not converting audio to 48k, would it work? As to me it would then just be the same as putting a VCD on a 90 or 99min CD, but of course it woul be on a 450(?)min disc!

I'm curious as I am due to buy a Sony DRU-500A.

    Thanks,
    Cheekie

No it wont work, you cant burn in vcd mode(mode2 xa) on a dvdr. You could burn it as iso but it would not work on most dvd players.

  3. Q: If you burn in ISO to a DVD-R/RW disc isn't it just like burning a to a really big CDR. That is if all I want to put on the DVD-R is PC data to be read on a PC DVD-ROM drive I cn do that right? (semi un-related question about backing up DivX files, hope ot by DVD-RW drive next week
