  1. When I play a vcd my Apex AD703 will play all all but the last second or two and goes back to beginning. The same VCD will play all the way to the end on my Sony. It is minor but irritating when it cuts and runs. Is there a firmware update that will correct this problem? If so, where I can I find it.

And I never experience it at all. Could it be an encoding issue?

I have encoded using both TMPGEnc and LSX35, burned with Nero and Ulead's DVD plug-in with exactly the same results. You would have to have something at the very end in order to see it. Possibly I have an earlier level firmware in my Apex.

  5. Lamont -

I do real time mpeg2 captures with an AIW Pro. I can cut the file and the cuts always play to the very last frame. I know because I play back on a three tray DVD player that automatically advances to the next disk. Never a problem. Hummm....I have no idea. It seems that many different people get varying results. But there are so many variables that its difficult to isolate the problem.

  6. Sorry man but it is just the player, mine does it to....easy solution though...just add about a 5 sec long blank trailer to the end of the video (join it with the original mpeg) before you burn it.

Well...thanks for the suggestion but I don't think so. If you have to add as much as a 5 second trailer I wouldn't blame the player. What are you using to edit? Like I said before I can cut and I've cut as close to 1 second, even less and I haven't had a problem between disks. I use M2-edit. Maybe its more precise than what you're using.

I've never had the end of any burn cut off when played. I think it may be a bit more complicated than just "the player".

  8. I have the same missing few seconds with SVCDs. Both the vcd and svcd video clips are uneditied and play to the end except in the Apex AD 703.

  9. I have the same problem with my Hitatchi 505U DVD player, also only with SVCD though. When I burn to VCD they clips play flawlessly. However when I put them to SVCD the first clip will stop about 2-3 secs before the end then continue. It is a real pain when you try to make SVCD menus with video files, near impossible to do what you want to.
