  1. okay i am attempting to take a dvd and put it on a dvd-r
    i am following instructions from

    http://www.digital-forums.com/dvd2dvdr/part3.htm

this is where i have problems
    step 3
    i should note
step 1 with dvd decrypter and step 2 with dvd2avi worked flawlessly

step 3 is where i have problems
    i open up tmpge, i have tried 2 versions 2.53 and 2.58
when i click on the browse option for video source it DOES NOT see any compressible video source. I then switch it to look for all files within that folder and then click on my .d2v file. I get this error

path of where file is located can not open, or is unsupported

I have redid steps 1 and 2 over several times and get the same thing over and over

I am running win xp pro, atholon 1.2, 2 60 gig hd, 512 RAM
    version of dvd2avi is 1.76
dvd decrypter was the most current from there website, just got it last couple of days.

the 2 movies that i have tried are training day and bloodworks

can anyone out there help me with this, i am sure it is something that i overlooked

    thanks in advance

i should also note that i just reloaded my OS about a week ago in case it matters

these are the files i have in my working folder after doing dvd decrypter and dvd2avi

.ac3 file that is 336 megs
    6 .vob files
    1 .ifo file
.d2v file that is only 544KB(IS THIS SIZE RIGHT) should it be bigger than this

    thanks

    thanks in advance

I want to say I had a similiar problem about a year or so ago and I was doing something wrong with some type of plugin or what not, but not for sure

  5. I perform one more step using VFAPI to frameserve an avi file to TMPGenc - see doom9.net's dvd ripping guides, which is where I learned it.

More than likely it is not TMPGEnc but the version of DVD2AVI you are using. Try TMPGEnc 2.59.47.155 Make sure the version of DVD2AVI is 1.76

I had a lot of problems with the last version (1.77). I now use 1.76 always with no problems but when I use 1.77 TMPGEnc will not work with the .d2v file so I went back to the previous version and no more problems. Hope it helps

Check your settings whith the screenshots on my Guide and should work.

"DVD2AVI (note: you should try this new version first, but some users have had problems with it, so if you have problems opening the .d2v project with TMPGEnc, try version 1.76 from here) "
