My goal is to get video tapes (VHS/VHSC) to a VCD.
I have an ATI AIW Rage Pro 8MB AGP card. I recently downloaded from ATI the MMC version 7.6 with no DVD. I tried to capture in various formats, but the better the quality, the more the whole system locks up.
It seems that there are many many types of .avi files this card can create, what is the difference with them and what should I be using?
I setup a profile when the PC boots up to go to a video editing profile so I have just about everything disabled to make sure there are no IRQ sharing issues.
I tried the directions at www.vcdhelp.com/ATI_AIW_Guide.htm , but I still have issues with it locking up.
Also I have some other .avi files that I recently captured with out the system locking up, that I can't seem to get the video and audio to match up after using avi2vcd or TEMPGEnc12a. Seems good for awhile, but after about 20 minutes or so there is at least 1 second difference.
I have Pinnacle Studio 8.3 version for editing of the .mpg, so far so good, only $19.99 at Best Buy after rebates.
Any other tips?
