  1. Ive had a good read through these forums and can't seem to find a soluttion to my problem, so here it goes.

I have 1 and a bit hrs of video (15 GiGS) ive edited and cut up to how I want it, Ive renderd it to it's original uncompressed DV state, Now I have the problem.

I have CCE 2.5 SP, select video, Add, select the AVI file I wan't to import, when I try and encode this file it turns out a grey dotted screen with a two inch thick green bit at the bottom. Thing being is that if I Import a file of the the same characteristics but smaller, say 1 gig, It seems fine.
Does anyone know if there is a file size restrictons with CCE ?

Also, my souce video is from a DV camera, therfore Interlaced, Is there a option to DE-Interlace the souce video in CCE like in Tmpeg ??

Im getting tired of the 3am bed times trying to sort this out, Any help will be much appreciated !!

    DV is compressed, not uncompressed.

there is no reason to de-interlace DV unless its going to be played only on PC .

break the avi up , and use cce render to one file feature .. faster than trying to figure out the problem .. or frame serve it ..

Size is not the issue. CCE has no size limit that I'm aware of in regards to source material. I would think this is codec, or source related. Frameserving would be a good workaround, as it will allow you to serve up 'standard' frames for the encoder, regardless of the source.

Large (<2GB) AVIs were problematic in versions of CCE-SP >=2.50.

    See http://www.cinemacraft.com/files/txt/sh2667e.txt

    Version 2.56.01.00 Monday, December 4, 2000

    Bug Fixes
    - Audio mode is not saved in ecl file.
    - Application error occurred when [Advanced...] button is clicked while MPEG-1
    is selected.
    - Could not encode audio if Athlon processor is used (2.50 only).
    - Could not decode AVI files with dropped frames.

    Changes
    - Supported AIFF input/output.
    - Supported quantization matrices setting.
    - Supported AVI 2.0 file format extensions.

Try upgrading to a newer version or frameserving to your current version of CCE-SP.

I'm currently on 2.64, and I encode avi's ranging anywhere from 20GB to 80GB without issue. Your info above would indicate problems for versions ABOVE 2.50.

The only reference in the link here is for version 2.28 and below. The problem is not referenced again in any version after that.

Sorry, my bad. I meant v2.50 or less did not handle LARGE AVI files correctly.

wesleyp, cce will render an MPEG into one file by default. I'm not sure about version 2.5, but I would assume it's the same.

As a workaround to your problem, you should consider using AVISynth to frameserve your file to CCE.
