  1. Nero 5.5.9.17 the best software out there, worked flawlessly for me.

Nero 5.5.10.0 DVD+RW ok DVD+R nothing but costers.

I read the other posts and thought that it may have been something that other computer users did on there part that caused Nero to go bad. I can safely say I am right there with you now. What happened to my flawless Nero.

Reinstalled Nero 5.5.9.17 and am happy again.

  4. yeah, lots of people (myself included) posted on this topic. seems like that problem only affects 5.5.10.0 AND people using the A05.

I managed to find copies of 55917 (12.7MB) but I also see a 559171 (12.0MB) anyone know the difference between these versions? The nero site revision history doesn't seem to go past 55917.

  7. Here's my setup that has problems with 5.5.10.0

Dell 8200 768MB RDRAM 2.4Ghz P4 with a HP dvd200e DVD Writer connected with Firewire.

Again DVD+RW's are fine but when it comes to DVD+R's I only made costers. Used Fuji and Memorex for my media on DVD+R's and Fuji and HP media for DVD+RW's.

  9. Like my granpa used to say "son if it aint broke, tweak with it till you brake it" haha just been sarcastic, the thing is most of the updates for nero as of lately has been for more burner support with very few bug fixes, btw the nero page does not have the version history for 5.5.10 if any knows where I can find that let me know pls, and if the current version you have right now works great why upgrade? just my .02.

  10. Yep ! That is what I decide, I didn't upgrade after seeing some posts with problems here. I use 5.5.9.17.0

  11. Glad I could save someone DVD+R's or DVD-R's. Next time I will be sure to check the forums before upgrading to the next greatest version and I will wait for about a month before I upgrade just to make sure.

Here is an interesting article that was just posted.
