  1. Has anyone had experience with super-vhs... at the moment i want good quality archiving of tv programs and when DVD capturing becomes cheaper i will use this... i can get a Super-VHS now for about as much as a radeon AIW... is this a good idea... is the quality as good as mpeg2... has anyone had experience with this...

also if i wanted to record DVD's from my computer to Super-VHS how could this be done... i have a All in wonder but i might be getting the new radeon 8500... how can i get DVD information out of my pc to a video?

  2. SVHS is analog, it has better resolution than VHS adn has chroma
    and luminance separately, better sound.
But it is analog and you loose each time you copy - too bad.

If you have DV camcorder with analog in or DV deck - I would choose that.
You can record 1.5 h LP on DV or Digital8 tape.
There are 90 minutes Digital 8 tapes so you can tape even 135 min LP.

As for backing up DVD - better is to get big harddrive and archive your DVD mpegs
until you get DVD burner. or split it on CDs.
