I've got a number of music files that I'd like to burn, but some are vcd and others svcd. Can both be burned to a same disc using multisession?
If not, can the same type be burned to the same disc as multisession?

Firstly, you cannot make multisession VCDs so NO and NO.
As to whether you can put both VCD spec MPEG-1 files and SVCD spec MPEG-2 files on the same disc, the answer is that "you can", but you cannot do so in a compliant way.
You will either be making an XVCD or an XSVCD.
Just make either a VCD or SVCD with VCDEasy or Nero, and just drag in your MPEG source files. You will have to turn of any "compliance" warnings.
There is a better than average chance that the "off-spec" video clip on the disc you make will not play properly.
