Virtualdub-- free & easy
just select direct stream copy under audio & video then select your section to cut then click file ->save as avi -
Nandub. Virtualdub isn't VBR friendly...
You also want to cut on a keyframe, the best way to do this is :
1-CTRL+Left (move to beginning)
2-Home (mark selection start)
3-go into edit, go to, then try last keyframe in 697 megs. (if you don't get a satisfactory size, you will have to try different values here)
4-press end to mark end of selection
5-file save as whatever1of2.avi
6-press home again, making the end of your selection your new beginning
7-CTRL-Right (move to end)
8-press End (mark sel end)
9-file save as whatever2of2.avi
Oh, of course, you have to be in direct stream copy...
That's the best way... Hope that helps -
