What should be lovely smooth colour gradients play back as horrible bands of colour - very noticable on skin-tones and lights. It's especially annoying on Lord Of The Rings.
Is this because the player is crap? Or my cables (cheap scart/composite)? Is it fixable?
Cheers

Thanks for replying - but, no, it's going straight into the TV via the scart.
Just had a look at the disk on my PC and the banding is there also - but nowhere near as bad.
