avis / mpegs run upside-down

I have heard of the problem of files playing upside-down on Windows Media Player (and Power DVD), but can't remember the download fix required. Can anyone help with the file name please? This affects hard drive and cd-rom sources. Also I've encountered problems with more and more clips playing with a strong green tint which clears to a degree if you leave it playing on repeat. Graphics card is GeForce 2, 64Mb if that helps.

Uninstall any codec pack(or all divx codecs,filters) and then reinstall only the codecs you need.
