Is it possable to completly remove the audio from a mpg or avi file without reencoding? And if you have to re encode can virtualDub or tmpgenc do it....if so....is it easy to do.

    thanks

  2. virtualDub,open the avi
    audio > no audio
    video > direct stream copy
    then save as avi

for mpeg:tmpgenc, haven't done it,but there is a setting in the audio to turn down the volume

TMPEG can separate (de-multiplex) the audio and video on mpg files. Start TMPEG and bypass the project wizard. Go to File... MPEG tools. Choose De-multiplex. Load in your mpg file. Hit run and you shoud get two files. One audio and one video.

    Good luck.
