ok i setup everything correct except i did not use any filters since that wasnt needed
but after a few minutes virtual dub just freezes
and sits their doing nothing untill i close it
i am using the latest version so that cant be the problem

Yes, that was what I meant. Have you tried to use TMPGEnc to convert your mpeg video to DivX?
