Looking through the forums this seems to be a common problem. With tmpgenc what is the difference between the source aspect ratios 16:9 display and 16:9 625 line (Pal) ? When should I choose one or the other ? I'm making vcd's for a pal tv system.
    Cheers !

Hey, Chris. :P If the source file is a DivX, then the source aspect ratio would be 1:1 (VGA). If the source file was from a DVD, then it would be something like 4:3 625 Lines (PAL) or 16:9 625 Lines (PAL) depending on the aspect ratio of your DVD.

    Hope That Helps!!! :P

Thanks for the tip . I'd been wondering about the 1:1 vga option. However, my source file is a dvd and I'd still like to know the difference between "display" and "625 line". I'm starting to get some good results after a lot of trial and effort ( and unwatchable vcd's) and I want to really get my configuration right.
    Cheers !

Since your source file is from a DVD, I think you're supposed to select 16:9 625 line (PAL) if the aspect ratio of your DVD is 16:9. Try 16:9 625 line (PAL) and see if solves your problems!!! :P

    Hope That Helps!!! :P
