I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Hollywood is countersuing 321 Studios for allegedly "trafficking the tools of digital theft."
Seven major motion picture studios filed a counterclaim Thursday in U.S. District Court, Northern District of California against 321 Studios, makers of DVD Copy Plus and DVD X Copy.
The software sold at stores nationwide allows the user to make a copy of a DVD to a blank CD or DVD by defeating the copy protections encoded onto the original movie disc. The studios contend that is an illegal activity.
The movie studios say the software contains the power of digital piracy, and asked the court to enjoin 321 Studios from selling it or distributing it. The studios also seek damages from any proceeds derived from the company's software sales.

I hope they DO get shut down....I'm completely tired of receiving 4-5 e-mails a day from 'Mary', 'Susan', 'Krina' (and 20,000 other names) for dvd copy software.
I gave up after about a dozen times of using the unsubscribe function, when it worked that is.
Have a good one,
neomaine

DVDX is nothing more than bundled freeware and if you buy it then
you are taking money away from those who as a hobby/school project
actually wrote the code. -
wow can't believe I hear this all the time how DVDxCOPY is taking time and money out of small programers pockets, yeah in turn they(programers) are taking money out of studio's hands by making programs to copy DVD's, CD's, etc... oh yes, I mean backups, excuse me, we do backups on this site and everyone here on this site has the hundreds of original DVD's to prove they are backups. I thinks its funny, now these same little people know exactly how the big studios feel about their products being ripped off, not so cool now, ... is it?
Hey you all who feel DVDxCOPY is wrong and feel ripped off, sue them, the studio's do. -

"DVDXCOPY not DVDX"-my bad
thxkid,
I'm not condoning those including myself who backup DVDs' but why pay for a program when you can use freeware to accomplish the same thing.I knew
321 DVDXCOPY was warez and it was a matter of time before the M.P.A.A
was going to take them to court. -
ok......
I was curious so I have this thing now. JUNK!! It appears to be a stripped down, dumbass friendly version of IFOEdit. The options are sorely lacking. If there is a way to make a backup of a dvd-9 into one dvd-r with only the main movie files ........I couldn't find it.
At this point, until some revisions are made, I'd say a quick transcode and authoring for the resultant mpegs is a better way. However, this does look promising. It just needs to be a little more friendly towards the more advanced users by offering more flexibility and control over the end product -

neomaine -- and everyone else
-- a word of advice concerning spam:
Never, ever attempt to "unsubscribe" from a spam list! All this does is confirm to the spammers that they have a valid e-mail address, and insure that you will be included on the "50,000 valid e-mail addresses!!!!" CD-ROMs they sell each other.
