DVD Smartripper V2.41 problem VOB file 2

Have tried to rip with smartripper V2.41 and read with DVDx V2.0. The Smartripper only reads up to VOB file 2 at 19% and freezes. DVD Speed also drops to zero. I can rip and convert using just DVDx V2.0, but I do not believe the quality is as good. The Smartripper problem occurs on all my DVDs. Has anyone a suggestion on what is up with my system, or how I can solve it? Have tried using different ripper programmes and the same problem occurs. DVD has passed all its parameter checks with nero DVD speed V53. Many thanks in anticipation.

Have you ever gotten a DVD to rip with smartRipper?
Here's the best i can offer...
1) Try a reinstall, sometimes crazy things happen and it will work
2) Make sure you have a good ASPI Layer. Many of my early DVD rip/authoring problems were solved after i upgraded my ASPI layer.
3) Try actually playing a DVD in the dvd drive, see what happens. Does it play through, or are there skips/freezes? If so, then it could be your drive is messed up.

Have just reformatted my system. DVD works fine, no skips or jumps. Have used smartripper before the reformat and it worked fine. I will try to update my win aspi files. Many thanx, Mac.

Have reinstalled win aspi and there are no problems detected in the aspi check log. This problem with ripping also occurs using dvddec3. Could it be my Norton anti-virus as this plays havoc with some programmes??? Many Thanx.
