    which codec is being used by media player or other players.

    I used DXman to check my codecs. Lots of MPEG2-related ones. Since I am having problems playing an SVCD MPG file I would like to try different MPEG2 decoders but Im not sure which one is being used. I have 3-4 decoders installed it seems ...

    Ideas? Thanks.

    dxman will show you what is being used and allow you to de-reg codecs you dont want to use
