    Can someone tell me how I can find out which firmware version I am using on my Sony DRU 500A? I think I updated it but it doesn't seem to burn at the 4X speed. I am using WINXP Home.
    I am just learning, so be patient with me and some of the questions I might ask.

    The EXE program in the firmware package is the only way I found mine. It will tell you you have the Sony installed right and the firmware version it detected. It doesn't hurt anything to run the program just to see the firmware rev you have.

    The driveinfo program will tell you.
