  1. I have read and tried just about every tutorial on getting these SVCDs to work on my standalone DVD player. I have downloaded every software in existance to help me get them to work. I know my standalone DVD player is compatable because I have burned numerous Sealab 2021 episodes as SVCDs and they play fine, but for some reason, if it is not animated, it WILL NOT WORK!

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

A little more detail on EXACTLY what you are trying to do might not go amiss here.

Details such as Source material (capped, downloaded, avi or mpeg, fps resolution etc), tools used, methods or guides followed and where things seem to go wrong is usually a good idea. Also make and model number of your DVD player might help in case anyone else has this model.

  3. Sorry, I will try to be more specific.
Here is exactly what is happening:

Originally, I burned Super VCDs of episodes of a show called Sealab 2021. They worked great on my Standalone DVD Player (Hitachi DV-P315U). However, then I began trying to burn a movie called Scarface. I wasted like 10 discs trying not only the original method I used to burn Sealab 2021 (letting Nero Burning Rom encode/burn it automatically), but I tried just about every tutorial this site has to offer on burning SVCDs.
Some programs I have tried are VirtualDub, VCDEasy, CCE, LSX-MPEG Suite, DVMPEG, VOB Instant CD+DVD, VCD Galaxy, 321Studios, DVDSqueeze, DVDx, TMPGEnc, mpeg2_SVCD, DVDCompression, DVD Copy, SmartRipper, EasyDivX and Movie Maker. That is all I can find at the moment.

I have tried tutorials such as:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/avitovcdfoolproofusingcce/
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubframeserve.htm
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm#audio
and a whole bunch of others that I don't feel like searching for on this site.

Is there any hope for me?

I originally thought that the problem was that I could only burn animated stuff or something since I had no problem burning Sealab 2021, but not Scarface, but last night I tried burning Eight Crazy Nights and it did not work when I tried it on my DVD player.

Does anyone have any clue what could be going on???
    I am totally confused

If you do know what I am doing wrong, could you help me get it right?

In case I did not come off strongly enough above in explaining what I am trying to do I am trying to figure out a way to burn SVCDs that WORKS!

Checking the DVD players list this website it doesn't look like your player supports SVCDs.

Try DVD2SVCD --- sounds like your best bet at the moment!

  6. I think I am the dumbest person alive. I'm serious. I just checked to see if my DVD player is compatible with SVCDs and it ISN'T!!!!

I must have burned the Sealab 2021 episodes in VCD mode by mistake! Sorry to waste everyones time.
I will try these 10 discs on a friends DVD Player. They will probably ALL work
