  1. Hello,
    I was wondering if I should do my SVCD in PAL or NTSC?
    Is there a better quallty or are they equivalent?

    You should use the correct format for your region

    Practically speaking both PAL and NTSC or equal
    some claim PAL has better colour and it's certainly easier to encode because you don't have to worry about telecining

    also try not to transcode material from one format to another - this introduces quality loss

    North America uses NTSC. All of Europe uses PAL.

    NTSC (VCD): 352x240/23.967 or 29.97Hz
    PAL (VCD): 352x288/25Hz

    NTSC (SVCD): 480x480/29.97Hz
    PAL (SVCD): 480x576/25Hz

    Apparently, most DVD players can work with both types. My Apex player seemed to have worked with a PAL file I downloaded...

    But you definetly want to use the correct format.
