I would like to place my drive in a firewire enclosure to use on several different computers, Can anyone point me to a brand and place to buy one suitable for it. It is an outdated drive but is still useful for its ability to play dvd's and write cd's on a laptop that doesn't have this function

I've successfully used my Sony DRU-500A with a USB2 External Enclosure model ME-720U2 and fully recommend it. Price around $ 48 - $ 55. Just run a basic search on Goggle on ME-720
I know there is also a Firewire version (ME-720F) -
You can try to follow this (posted couple of day ago).
Firewire External Enclosure for Sony DRU-500A. Help choose.. -
I have my DRU500 in an external case called the Speedzter5, it has
both firewire and USB2.0 and the Sony works great in it. It also has a
door you can close when you are porting it around.
You can search for it by name on google and pricewatch.com.
I paid $109 + shipping.
