Ripping movies from a cd.??

Ok someone gave me Fast and Furious on vcd. The thing is , is that its in Avi. format.

is there any good program *freeware* that i can ripp this movie onto my computer.. and then ill reformat it into Mpeg. and re burn it onto cd's.. so i can play it on dvd/ player *big screen is always better*

Um...you just demonstrated the word oxymoron. You can not have a VCD in AVI format first of all...meaning it isn't a VCD until you have it in MPG and burned as a DAT. You want to "rip" the AVI, but there is no need. Just copy and paste. By converting and burning the AVI you would then have a VCD for your DVD player. Good luck on making your VCD.

If you have a movie disc that is in AVI, then what you have is a DIVX disc. There exist guides and programs to convert DIVX to VCD to the left.
