I have a DVDRW228 with firmware version 1.13. It is working fine with both +RW and +R (used Fuji and Imation blanks). No problems so far. Question: What do I gain, if any, in upgrading to firmware 1.36. Can't find any doc/post giving details of the change. I'm playing it safe and hoping to get some feedback if it worth the risk of an upgrade. I do not need to make it "region free." either.
