  1. Are there any suggestions of what software to use to capture with scene detection from a dv-cam (firewire connection), withouth beeing forced to edit in the same software? Those that I´ve tested (bundled with card) either results in avi files that seems corrupted when trying to edit in premiere (half the resolution), or doesn´t have the option of saving the captured scenes as avi files (has to be edited at once).

    Thanks in advance...

    Craig Tucker,

I saw your response about the scene detection capture using Workshop and I tried it last night - it seemed to work ok but when I import the AVIs in to Premiere the properties are shown as 360 x 288. It does not seem to create a 'normal' DV AVI as in Explorer, right-click, properties, advanced - does not show the DV codec , or bitrate as I normally get with Pinnacle or Premiere captured DV AVIs. In MedaStudio, however, the analyse tool does show it as 720 x 576 ?

    Do you have an ideas?

  4. This is exactly what I found out using wincoder/producer (I think it was..) that came bundled with some hardware. But yesterday I bought Scenalyzer after beeing really fed up with Pinnacle express etc, and I have to say that it was well worth the money ($33). I also have a computer with Pinnacle DV500+ with Pinnacle DVtools bundled, but this software does not even come close in competition with Scenalyzer when it comes to speed and stability. I can only agree with one of the user comments on Scenalyzer´s website: "How can a programmer think so different? It can only be, that you are a DV user and did not find a suitable DV capture. So you wrote it yourself. And the result is great - It would have saved me so much time which I can use with my son, who is the main actor in my movies." So, I wonder then: have anyone found any drawback with Scenalyzer? Except that you did not bought it earlier...
