I started using CCE to reencode dvds yesterday but when theres sometihing likew the dreamwiorks logo up on the screen the writing appears very bland.
If I aint making sense just say so. But plz post opinions and your experiences.

remember this:
I have great eyes for spoting bad encoding. The matrix for example wasn't great. Anmd although my fav dvd of all time t2 was done very well its very noisy. Now gladiator is pretty good. But when re-encoded the main movie looks good BUT the actuall bit where it says dreamwave or whatever the writing is very undetailed looking. Just look out for it.

And just remember it depends on what settings you are using. Give us some exact info of your settings being used, also the source of the Dreamworks logo I guess is Gladiator (for someone who has a knack for spotting bad encodes you forgot names of major movie companies easily

or use 4 pass encoding and change those other options almost like in that Doom9's guide...!
and that 3000 kb/s is very low avg bitrate for DVD-R!!!!!
180 min movie with 384 kb/s ac3-audio=3000 kb/s avg bitrate for DVD-R!
You really cant get very good quality with so low bitrate and so big resolution if you dont use 4 pass or Robshot or RoBA method and even then the quality cant be very good!
use this calc:
